CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

We invite submissions of short stories, poetry, memoir and an excerpt/chapter from an unpublished novel for The Coinage Book Three, the forthcoming issue of our literary journal.

This edition is centred around the theme of anemoia – a longing for a past one has never known – and will explore nostalgia, memory and the subtle distance between what we remember and what truly was. We welcome work that engages thoughtfully with personal and collective memory, imagined histories, and the ways in which stories shape our understanding of the past.

We are seeking original, previously unpublished work from emerging and established South African writers.

AI and Originality

We are committed to publishing work that reflects authentic, original voices. While we recognise the evolving role of digital tools in the writing process, submitted work should be primarily the author’s own creation.

Submissions that are wholly or substantially generated by artificial intelligence will not be considered. If AI tools have been used in a limited or assistive capacity, this should be disclosed at the time of submission.

We look forward to reading work that lingers, questions and reimagines the past.
